Introduction
Midwestern Region Centre for Democracy and Human Rights – MICOD is a national NGO started way back in 2008 as a civil society platform aimed at positioning citizens and civil society into sustainable development, advocating for human and democratic rights. was legally registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs under the NGO Registration Bureau with reg. No. 4472 (INDR93183827NB) & Ref. File No. MIA/NB/2011/09/3827. Currently operates in the eight districts of Masindi, Buliisa, Kibaale, Kiryandongo, Kikuube, Hoima, Kakumiro and Kagadi. It has since then been involved in human rights awareness, Strengthening Citizens’ participation in health and education service delivery in refugee host communities, civic education, voter education and environmental conservation and advocacy around environment and natural resources as well as oil and gas governance advocacy.
